Gollup was a quiet sort, rather distinct in his tastes towards associates based upon hygiene and the ability to speak never at all, or only when addressed. as such, this gollup was adverse to company of any sorts. As far as this gollup knew, it was the only one of its kind, not aware of its gender, or persuasian, never sought to find a name, and only referred to himself as gollup, on those few occasions he was addressed by those interfering with his quiet solitude. now gollup (as we’ll now call him as it is still yet to be determined if he or she, is the only gollup of his or her kind), was forced – due to inclement weather – to wander into the market of the neighboring township. of course gollup (as was previously disposed) rather found the comfort of others not comfortable, and this was a daunting task indeed. what to wear, should he hide his face (for the sake of this story, as a gender has yet to be assigned, we’ll assume that he or she is a he, and thus discover as we move along through this story, as to which he or she – he or she may be).
selecting a straw woven hat, with breaches, and deep water boots, he made the trek out of the hedge, across the brook, into the land known as wunderlingshire. Now wunderlingshire was a bustling township of over 1500 truids and ganders, all of education and means, having good farming within the immediate region, to merit gollups visit to the township, as he lived under a hedge, which garnered very little light, thus not allowing for much of a garden at all due to the lack of rainfall and serious heat of this past season. Gollup, as we mentioned before, and will likely mention again, continuiously, was not fond of associations, prefering the solitude of his (or her) hedge. with head down, and carrying case in tow, Gollup, with resignation, moped with heavy steps towards wunderlingshire.
This was very much a lovely day for a walk to Wunderlingshire township, the air was crisp and cool with the feel of a warm breeze to carry throughout the day, as well as high pillowy clouds floating in the expanse sky of deepest lapis – while birds danced reflecting the brilliance of the sun, and gollup was finding her (or his) mood lifting ever so much with the splendor of the day. His (or her) step became lighter, and clearer and she (or he) found him(her)self whistling inspite of the unlike characteristics of a gollup to sing or whistle at all. (Being a solitude creature the avenue of music, though tasteful indeed, was not a luxury that gollups would chose for solitude, in fear of attracting attention thus spoiling the wonder of this solitude… no undue attention at all i’m afraid).
the drool nature of a walk for half a day, no longer seemed a task of weight and measure, with even the weight of the carrying case, not noticable, as gollup began to enjoy the pleasures of the day! Even the thought that perhaps she (or he) would have to acquire lodging after the days events, no longer seemed daunting . comfortably whistling a tune which gollup did not know, without any real cadence or point or purpose… as that seemed to be the gollup way. Even as the only one of his (her) kind… Of which Gollup was quite sure, having never met another gollup ever in her (or his) lifetime, with little or no memory of parents or siblings at anytime.
Gollup pondered very casually the thought of never having met a Truid or Gander, although indeed having heard those travelling the road near gollups hedge (although never actually peaking past the hedge to see the passersby on the chance that gollup would be discover, and the solitude disturbed), and gathered that they were rather noisy and bustling little creatures not worth the merit of the perception of great education and candor, and the idea that more than one could comfortably live in such a confined space was just incredulious to poor gollup. Not to say that the hedge was large by any means, but large enough for one single gollup (of which he or she was the only one).
Hey, responding in gollup time. reading on…..
